Are phone/video call readings the same quality as in-person?
Yes! I'd even argue that they are better because it allows the focus to be on the connection, and not the travel. Read an in-depth answer why by clicking HERE. Phone readings are often the best way to receive a connection as it opens up new possibilities of evidential information that are not based on your appearance. If you prefer face-to-face connection through a video call, I'm happy to do that as well. There are many benefits to phone/video readings: no driving, quicker scheduling, and convenience for all. What about the wait list?
In 2014 and again in 2017 we ran into an enormous problem with a wait list of over 360 names and subsequently stopped adding names. We now work from a short wait list of 20 people maximum. Can I book Mollie for a private reading in my home with friends and family?
I do not offer in-home, private readings for individuals or parties. In my experience, a "party" is not the right atmosphere to receive deep healing after a significant loss. I do offer intimate groups of 8 where everyone will receive a message. These are ticketed events held in hotel event space with proper parking and security. They are a good alternative to a private session for someone wishing to ensure they receive some type of message or have had previous private sessions. They are very enjoyable events for people who like a more personal experience with a group and an opportunity to ask questions. Please check my "Event" page for all upcoming groups. Event Help: I cannot find my event tickets in my email! I don't have a printer! Can I purchase by phone?
Do not stress out! One of two things has happened: You entered an incorrect email address when purchasing your tickets or they landed in your Spam Folder. Your tickets come from our vendor, Eventbrite, not Mollie Morning Star. It is incredibly helpful and much faster if you have a printed ticket at the door, however, we do have a master guest list of all tickets purchased and can check you in with a photo ID if you have a last minute ticket issue.
If you still cannot locate your tickets, please use the "Contact Us" form and let us know 1. What event you purchased tickets for. 2. The date you purchased. 3. The name you used for the purchase. 4. The correct email to resend your tickets to.
We cannot process telephone orders. You must purchase tickets on our website.
I cannot come to the event. Can I have a refund or exchange my seats for a different event?
We are sorry that you can't make it, but we do not offer refunds for any reason. You may give or sell your tickets to anyone and have them check in under your name - with no hassle! It's easy. We do not respond to requests for refunds or exchanges. Events sell out in advance and seats are very limited.
I'm interested in mediumship and I am looking for a mentor. Does Mollie take students?
At this time I completely dedicated to helping the bereaved, travel and writing. I do not offer mentorship or classes specifically created for those who are aspiring mediums.
My young child is exhibiting signs of being psychic or mediumistic. Can Mollie consult with me about my child?
Many young children have an openness to communicate with deceased loved ones. While this may alarm you, it is very natural and nearly every child outgrows the tendency once they arrive at school age. I always suggest speaking to your child in an open, nonjudgemental manner. Simply ask them what they are experiencing without giving them any reason to be fearful or dramatic. There is nothing you can do to "encourage" this ability, nor do I feel you should. Children need a chance to live in the here and now and focus on growing up. If they have the ability, it will be there and you will have to deal with it. The most common occurrence is for it to fade away. If it persists, I would suggest mental health counseling to make sure your child has the best chance at remaining balanced and grounded in reality as they try to live with an ability that is largely misunderstood in this world. This is all of the advice I have on the topic of psychic children. My work is focused on helping the bereaved, so it is not an area of expertise for me. I would suggest you look for books about psychic children or an expert on the topic if you need additional counsel on how to help your child.
How do you communicate with my loved ones? Can you see and hear them?
The energy or soul of your loved ones enters my aura, or energy field, and there is a blending of our energies. They are then able to impress upon me their physical feelings, emotions, memories and “speak” to me telepathically. I do not see a ghostly apparition in the room; the communication takes place by mental telepathy. When they “speak” it is a thought that enters my mind, and I “see” them as an image my mind.
What's the difference between a psychic and a medium? Can you predict my future?
A person who is psychic can tap into your energy and present you with information about your past, present, and probabilities for the future. A medium receives information psychically and can sense and communicate with the energy of souls who have gone through the change called death. All of my psychic faculties are used during a reading, including feeling, hearing, seeing, smelling and tasting information from your loved ones. I also just know things, which is called claircognizance. It’s as if someone just inserts information into my head, suddenly, it’s just there. As a medium, my job is to assist the living and those in Spirit by translating their communication to prove that life exists beyond the death of the body. I do not give predictions, medical diagnosis or fortune telling. Mediumship is for healing grief and expanding your own awareness of the eternal nature of the soul.
Can you guarantee a connection with a specific person in Spirit?
Your loved ones in Spirit are just as eager to communicate with you as you are with them. However, I am only a telephone line, in a sense. I can make the connection for you to the world of Spirit but I cannot force anyone to answer the phone. Frequently, you will hear from an unexpected Spirit before you are able to connect with the one person you hope to hear from. It is imperative to validate these souls and their messages to move on in the reading and connect with the one you want to communicate with. I can not, nor can any medium, make any type of guarantee about who will come to communicate or what type of evidence they will give to identify themselves. You must come into the session with an open mind and heart, knowing that the souls who wish to communicate with you are there for an important reason.
What if I have a child that has passed?
If you have a child (or someone who is like a child to you) in Spirit, please prepare yourself to communicate with the soul in Spirit who is caring for your child and helped them at their time of passing. It does not matter if your child passed as an infant or adult, they rarely come through alone in a reading. Please be prepared to validate and communicate with the caretaker before communicating with the child. N o matter how old your child is at the time of passing, they will always be your baby and it is universally understood that you need to know that they are with other loved ones in Spirit.
I have had poor readings by reputable mediums. Can you help me?
A medium with a good reputation and lots of positive reviews has earned that recognition by proving their ability to connect. It takes a medium many years, practice and great effort to earn that notoriety. If you have had several disappointing experiences with reputable mediums, I would urge you to not book a reading with me. You may need to wait to hear from the souls of your loved ones for a variety of reasons. Some individuals must first work to heal their grief on a practical level. Signs of this include: trying to keep your loved one alive with too frequent readings, expecting them to predict the outcome of difficult circumstances, or tell you directly what to do with your life. The point of mediumship is to prove the existence of the conscious soul beyond the body. Once that has been proven to you, the reading is considered a success.
How often may I have a reading?
We will allow one session per year. Mediumship is a wonderful part of healing after loss, but it can not replace the grieving process. Some people choose to book sessions with different mediums several times a year to alleviate the pain of grieving. I caution against this, as you need to allow time to pass between sessions and give yourself time for personal growth. Learning to TRUST that your loved ones are spiritually present is a large part of continued healing after your validating session.
How long should I wait after a passing to book a session?
Souls are able to communicate almost immediately. The way to determine if the timing is right for a reading is based upon your acceptance of the passing and ability to handle the emotions that arise from reconnecting. Having an evidential reading can offer a wonderful feeling of reconnection and reassurance that your loved one is alive and well in Spirit. I feel no need for a mandatory waiting period if the person is in deep need of validation to move forward. I have had many people tell me that their High Priority session booked within weeks of a loved ones passing "saved their life." You are going to grieve the loss of your loved one whether you have a session today or next year. The loss may become more bearable if you have a validating connection with a medium and can rest easier knowing for certain that your loved one is okay, still connected and spiritually conscious. Due to scheduling constraints, we may not be able to accommodate an appointment request immediately.
What happens to suicides?
Due to my positive experiences, I believe there is no set "afterlife" reserved for someone who takes their own life on purpose or ends it accidentally. I have had those in Spirit come through me to their families with messages of deep remorse for their actions. I have also had some come through to let their families know that they are so much better now, with no regrets and they simply did not possess the faculties to cope happily here on earth. My advice is to release judgment and blaming for these situations. Each person is on his or her own path in life, and we must show respect and compassion for every soul. People who choose to end their lives are always offered loving assistance as they enter the world of Spirit.
I would like to strongly make the point that I have never connected with anyone in Spirit who was stuck or "in limbo.” The soul experiences a peaceful healing of mind, body and emotion at the time of their passing. This means that those souls who struggled to find acceptance, balance or love here on earth are given new opportunities in the afterlife to make peace with themselves and continue their growth. Nope. It's love, light and everything right as far as I am concerned. I do not work with paranormal investigations.
Do you do house clearings, blessings or make home visits?
My work is exclusively focused on helping the bereaved. I do not make any type of home visit for any reason. I'd suggest you check out books by Denise Linn where you can learn how to work with the energy in your home.
Do Spirits ever pass on negative messages?
Nope. Never. Spirit only seeks to heal relationships that were damaging here on Earth. The first negative message I receive will be my last. (The Spirit world doesn't want to lose one of their best workers!) I understand the question though. I hope my ex-husband outlives me because I have no desire to communicate with him...yet!
Do you ever receive communication from pets?
Yes! Absolutely! They have pure Souls, full of unconditional love and will be the first to greet you when you arrive in Spirit. The connection is eternal. They often come through in readings. However, I am not a dog-person and that makes identifying specific dog breeds challenging. I've had communications from every kind of pet: dogs, cats, fish, ferrets and of course, horses!
What should I expect in a private session?
The session begins when I take a quiet moment to invite your loved ones to come forth. When I connect, the information starts coming in from your first contact. I set about identifying the communicator, describing their life situation, relationship to you, facts such as their name or initial, relevant months of birthdays/anniversaries, names of loved one in Spirit with them, or names of those they want to acknowledge who are still living. They usually share with me the condition of their passing, and other pieces of evidence that will be meaningful to you. They then give me evidence that proves they are still aware of you and your current situation. Finally, I bring forth the message, the reason they showed up to communicate.
When I open the line of communication, I can’t guarantee that you will hear from any specific person. If there is someone you really need to make contact with, they almost always show up, but perhaps not first. Frequently, Spirit will send in a communicator who is someone you haven’t thought of in a long time, just to prove to you that this is REAL, before allowing the gate to open with the one you really want to hear from. If you have lost a child, even an adult child, please expect to first hear from a member of the family in Spirit who helped the child cross over and is caring for him or her. This information is meant to comfort you, to help you know they are not alone.
During this entire process, I ask that you respond to me by validating what I am saying, but not going overboard by telling me information. It is really, really important that you allow me to bring forth the evidence and not tell me your whole story before I make the connection. I literally only need to know your first name so I know how to address you respectfully. Please feel free to have a friend book your session and remain anonymous. I do sometimes get “stuck” in that the communicator will send me a feeling that I don’t understand. At that point, I will tell you exactly what I am sensing and ask you if it makes sense to you. If I give you a name, I am simply repeating what I hear, please tell me who the person named is so I can get the message correct.
I don't always get a name from the communicator. Sometimes it is just a letter or sound. (example, “I hear the name Doris or Dorothy”) Other evidence of their personality, life situation or facts can prove their identity to you. I will not continue with a reading until I have provided enough evidence for you to know without a doubt, with whom you are communicating. I do not connect with "guides" or "ascended masters." Sessions are focused on evidence to prove the survival of the Soul, and believe me, they know enough about earthly life to "guide" you.
Sessions do not include predictions or any type of medical diagnosis. Sometimes a Spirit communicator will suggest you take better care of your health, see a doctor, or express an opinion about a relationship you are in. Please keep in mind, this is their way of acknowledging they see what's going on currently. You are always in control of your life and how you choose to live it. If your loved ones didn’t have all the answers when they were alive, please don’t expect them to have them all now. A session should be for the purpose of healing grief and expanding your knowledge of our eternal connections.
If during the first 10 minutes of your reading, either one of us feels the connection is not being made, or can’t be validated, the reading will end and payment refunded. Beyond 10 minutes, the fee is considered non-refundable.
Most importantly:
Mediumship is communication with the goal of proving survival of the soul.
Please refrain from asking questions during the session. Your loved ones work hard to connect and allow their energy to flow through me to provide you with evidence of their Soul's survival. Stopping the process to ask questions interrupts that flow. At the end, I will ask if you have questions.
Your loved one must work within the frame of reference and symbols the medium has, therefore, you may not get a specific validation you request from your loved one. That in NO WAY means your connection isn’t real. Please accept the validations they are able to communicate. If your mom comes through clutching a special handbag, I bet I can tell you who the designer is. If your pop shows up with a tool, I'm likely to say, "He's got a hammer, or a wrench, or a screwing thingum."
Please be open to communication with anyone connected to you in Spirit, including those who passed before you were born, relatives of your friends, distant relations and pets. Focusing on the one person you want to hear from will only impede the connection. It is essential to validate and move through all the Spirit people who may show up to say hello in order to get to the one you want to connect with. While you won't likely be hearing from Princess Diana, you could hear from your best friend's deceased father. Please be open to it.
